a few of our favorite things: celebrating holiday traditions

It’s the holiday season and we’re all looking forward to spending time with family. One of the best parts of this joyous season is celebrating our unique traditions. Whether old, new or ever-evolving, we all have moments that we look forward to each year. Now we’re sharing our favorites with you!

More Holiday Traditions from the Interrupt Team

Allie

“Our family tradition is wearing matching jammies Christmas morning.”

Sandy

“My wife is half Sicilian, half Italian (not to be confused as the same thing). For Thanksgiving, we get together for an early afternoon dinner with her immediate family and have Italian main dishes like shrimp parmesan and chicken parmesan and spaghetti with two different kinds of homemade sauces. That’s served with all the pilgrim side dishes like rolls and stuffing and cranberry sauce and green beans.”

Keri

“My mom buys a bunch of gifts through the year, wraps them and indicates if they are for adults, children and age ranges. She also puts money and gift cards in a lot of them. We all choose a gift then play euchre, spoons and board games.”

Matt D.

“No real traditions, per se, other than watching my Dad do the NY Times crossword puzzle — in ink. And then there's me getting a plain, cheese pie (yes, I said, "pie"... OK, pizza) and eating it for lunch and dinner on the same day(s). Oh, and my nephew watches the Dallas Cowboys play on TV each Thanksgiving, no matter how they're doing for the season. A few years ago, he went to the game in Dallas with his dad. Santa really nailed it that year!”

Karin

“My immediate family draws names earlier in the year and then we all gather together on Christmas Eve to exchange gifts.”

Matt W.

“We make a huge batch of chili, have a fire, watch the Ohio State vs Michigan game and decorate the tree.”

We hope you have a wonderful holiday season and a prosperous new year!
