senior copywriter - contract

Position Description:

Interrupt is looking for one or more senior-level contract copywriters to serve as a seamless extension of our talented writing team. The ideal candidate is a quick learner who is equal parts creative and strategic, works both collaboratively and independently, and can tell B-to-B stories with B-to-C style.

As a member of our network of trusted partners, you’ll work hand-in-hand with our internal team to bring industry-leading brands to life through integrated strategies across every touchpoint. Because of our tight, long-standing client relationships, we take the time to provide in-depth background and employ a constructive, collaborative process to deliver consistently impeccable results.

Candidates must have a breadth of print and digital media experience including long and short form communications, advertising, social media, web, marketing and sales materials. Experience with building materials brands and/or B-to-B writing is strongly preferred.

Projects will require the ability to leverage established brand tone, messaging and creative direction combined with project-specific information and your own original thinking to create compelling, on-brand communications tailored to each audience, medium and objective. Contracts may be long-term or project-based, depending on current need.

  • Collaborate with in-house team to develop and execute innovative solutions that support and elevate our clients’ brands and align with overall business goals
  • Serve as a brand ambassador, ensuring all messaging aligns with established brand voice
  • Consistently deliver accurate, concise and compelling content, with superior attention to detail
  • Think beyond copy; conceptually brainstorm and develop new ideas that drive extraordinary marketing and branding solutions
  • Respect and maintain client confidentiality, including a standard non-disclosure agreement
  • Work within agreed upon deadlines and budgets


  • 6-10 years of relevant experience (agency preferred)
  • Strong communication skills with internal team and external clients
  • Ability to lead your process, exercising independent judgment as well as strong collaboration
  • Demonstrated analytical and conceptual problem-solving ability
  • Understanding of B2B and the building materials industry is a huge plus
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to absorb complex product information and translate into approachable, easy-to-understand copy
  • Support the company’s overall mission and follow all standards, policies, procedures and confidentiality guidelines
